PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a fixing device by which the frequency of energizing to a heater with full power can be extremely lowered. SOLUTION: This controller has a temperature sensor 4 detecting a heating temperature by the heater 5 at a specified position, and a switch circuit 3 stopping the power supply to the heater 5 when a temperature detected by the sensor 4 rises to a first specified temperature, and supplying the power of first electric energy to the heater 5 when a temperature detected by the sensor 4 is lowered to a second specified temperature lower than the first specified temperature. A rectifying circuit 2 supplying the power to the heater 5 with the second electric energy which is smaller than the first electric energy when the power supply by the circuit 3 to the heater 5 with the first electric energy is stopped and the circuit 3 are provided.
