PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily discard an unnecessary optical fiber without carrying a cutting device body to a discarding place by providing the cutter device with a drive mechanism, etc., for rotationally driving pinch rollers by receiving the motion of portions to be moved when cutting the optical fiber. SOLUTION: An opening/closing cap 4 is closed to clamp a non-coating portion 9 of the optical fiber 8 by the pinch rollers 6 and 7. A pressing means Q is thereafter pushed down by the fingertips to impart a bending stress and the accompanying tension to the non-coating portion 9 of the optical fiber 8 to cut the non-coating portion 9 from a flawed part. The pinch rollers 6 and 7 of an outer container 1 are rotated by a drive mechanism and the optical fiber disconnected by cutting is transported and housed to and into a recovering container 2. When the inside of the recovering container 2 is filled full with the separated optical fibers by repeating such operation, the opening/closing cap 4 of the outer container 1 is opened and the recovering container 2 is taken out of the outer container. The separated optical fibers in the recovering container 2 are then discarded.
