摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine discrete gradation levels and to obtain an image of good quality without decrease in the display quality by forming ITO on a second substrate, inserting a liquid crystal compsn. between first and second substrates, and driving ICs in a TAB form electrically connected to leads. SOLUTION: Two TFTs are formed as a compensation structure, and ITO (indium tin oxide film) is formed by sputtering so as to connect the output terminals of the TFTs to the electrodes as transparent electrodes of pixels on one substrate of the liquid crystal device. The ITO is etched by using a photomask 8 to form an electrodes 17. The ITO is formed at room temp. to 150 deg.C and annealed in oxygen or air at 200 to 400 deg.C. Thus, PTFTs 13, NTFTs 22 and electrodes 17 made of transparent conductive films are formed on a same glass substrate 50. Then a liquid crystal compsn. showing ferroelectric property is held between the first and second substrates, and driving ICs of a TAB form are connected to the leads on the substrate.</p>
