PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyalkyl ether/polyaryl ether sulfone-based copolymer practically usable from the aspects of cost, productivity, moldability, etc., and excellent in blood compatibility, especially antithombogenic properties. SOLUTION: A bis (haloaryl) sulfone is thermally reacted with a dihydroxyaryl compound and an α,ω-bishydroxypolyoxyalkylene compound [hereinafter referred to as a polyalkylene glycol (PAG)] in the absence of a solvent or preferably in a small amount of an amide-based solvent in the presence of a weak or a medium basic catalyst. Thereby, a polyalkyl ether/polyaryl ether sulfone copolymer can efficiently be produced. |
