PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain desired physical properties without the failure to grip film by providing a plate or a roll for preventing the end of the film from sagging on both end parts of the film before being supplied to a tenter stretcher. SOLUTION: After supplying plastic film 1 to a tenter 5, both end parts of the film 1 are gripped using a clip 4 to be stretched transversely, and thus at least a monoaxially stretched film is obtained. In this case, plates 2, 3 or a roll for preventing the end part of the film 1 from sagging are provided on both end parts of the film 1 right before being supplied to the tenter 5. The plates 2, 3 are preferably to be of stainless steel because the plates 2, 3 require the heat resistance against the temperature of a supply part inside the tenter 5. In addition, the plates 2, 3 are desirably to be installed on both end parts of a part other than the part which becomes a final stretched film product in order to cause no scratch on the finished product.
