PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold storage material and a cold storage type refrigerator using the material to decrease a fear of the material being pulverized, be high in mechanical strength, stably provide eminent refrigerating capacity at a low temperature area for a long period. SOLUTION: A cold storage material consists of particle-form cold storage materials and a binder to adhere the particle-form cold storage matrials to each other. The void ratio of the cold storage material is set to 15-70 vol.%. The median diameter of a pore present at the internal part of a cold storage material is preferably 10-300μm. Oxygen concentration in a range extending from the surface of a particle-form cold storage material to 100 angstrom () is preferably 5-80 at.%.
