摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin compsn. for the production of a multifiber connector of optical fibers which can realize high density and high accuracy of optical fibers by incorporating a silicone resin-based spherical filler which has a specified range of average particle size and which is spherical with a specified range of Wadell's sphericity into the resin compsn. SOLUTION: The resin compsn. for the production of a multifiber connector of an optical fiber cable is a thermosetting resin compsn. containing a silicone resin-based spherical filler. The silicone resin-based spherical filler has 0.05 to 20μm average particle size and 0.85 to 1.0 Wadell's sphericity. Since the filler is of a spheric form which is almost a sphere, the filler can be easily and uniformly dispersed in the thermosetting resin and can form a close-packed structure of the filler so that its amt. to be added can be increased. Thereby, shrinkage during molding or heat shrinkage after molding are further decreased, and the obtd. resin compsn. is suitable for the production of connectors with high density and high accuracy.
