PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine allowing switchable operation between a washing tub and a water stop valve in a simple and inexpensive structure. SOLUTION: This washing machine includes a lever member 29a to be moved to a preset direction for cancelling the braking of a washing tub, a driving motor M for moving the lever member 29a, a water stop valve 64 to be moved for opening/closing a drain passage 65 and a connection member 62 to be curved during braking the washing tank for connecting the lever member 29a to the water stop valve 64 and to be fastened when the lever member 29a is moved a distance to a preset direction.
