PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device that excellently performs photoelectric conversion by inputting a pulse signal, which turns on a reset switch which applies a reset voltage to an input terminal and turns on a transferring switch transferring electric charges to the input terminal, to the reset switch and the transferring switch. SOLUTION: A high level signal is applied to the gate of a transfer switch Q1, which is turned on. Light signal electric charges which is accumulated at a photoelectric conversion part PD are read out to a diffusion area FD through the transfer switch Q1. Then, a low level signal is applied to the gate of the transferring switch Q1 is turned off. Here, a high level signal is applied to a reset switch Q2, which is turned on to reset the diffusion area FD. Moreover, the transferring switch Q1 is turned on and the photoelectric conversion PD is reset. The potential energy of the diffusion area FD is lower than that of the photoelectric conversion part PD so that all the remaining electric charges are removed.
