PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coater for slurry for a catalyst which bolds a catalyst carrier liquidtight when the carrier is coated with the slurry. SOLUTION: A coater for slurry for a catalyst is equipped with a lower seat 2 which holds the lower end 11 periphery part of a cylindrical catalyst carrier 1 having a tubular passage in the axial direction liquidtight and supplies/ discharges the slurry to/from the passage, a lower seat 3 for holding the upper end 13 periphery part of the carrier 1 liquidtight, a seat driving apparatus which moves the lower seat 2 and the upper seat 3 relatively to make them approach each other or separate from each other and attaches/detaches the carrier 1 to/from a position between the lower seat 2 and the upper seat 3, and a slurry supply/discharge means for supplying/discharging the slurry to/from the lower seat 2, Accordingly, time and work costs for cleaning an apparatus for removing the leaked slurry can be curtailed, and the loss of the raw material slurry owing to the leakage can be prevented.
