PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array controller of a high data transfer throughput to a cache memory capable of efficiently using all access paths between a channel IF part and a disk IF part and the cache memory. SOLUTION: This controller is provided with a channel interface 411 for connecting a host computer 50 by the channel of a first kind, a channel interface 413 for connecting a host computer 51 by the channel of a second kind, plural disk interfaces 414 and 415 provided with an interface with a magnetic disk drive, a cache memory 14 and a shared memory part 15. In this case, the number of the access paths connected to the cache memory 14 is made less than the number of the access paths connected to the shared memory 15.
