PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize specifications for a low-cost variable timing gear actuator by connecting the upstream side of the oil passageway for supplying oil to the variable valve timing gear actuator to the downstream side of the oil pump and disposing the downstream side inside the timing gear case and around a cam sprocket. SOLUTION: In this structure, the upstream side of an oil passageway 58 for supplying engine oil to the variable valve timing gear actuator is connected to the downstream side of the oil pump and the downstream side is disposed inside the timing gear case and around the cam sprocket. The oil passageway 58 is provided with a first oil pipe 64 that communicates a main gallery 60 to an oil control valve mounted on one end of an internal combustion engine 2, and a second oil pipe 70 that communicates an internal passageway 66 formed in the timing case to a cam housing 68. A portion at which the second oil pipe 70 is mounted to the cam housing 68 is offset, with respect to an intake camshaft, outside in the width direction of the internal combustion engine 2.
