METHOD OF HIGH SPEED MELTING IN ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE

PURPOSE: A method is provided to melt solid iron resource at high speed by reducing loss of heat and time for charge by alternating charge pattern of solid iron resource in working by using an electric arc furnace. CONSTITUTION: A amount of the material to be charged is decided. Solid iron resource less than 0.6ton/m2 of apparent specific gravity determined by (weight of charged material)/(excess factor*capacity of an electric arc furnace) is charged 10-20% of total charged amount. A pig iron(8) of a certain size is charged at an amount range of 50-100% to the charge amount of solid scrap(7). The solid scrap and the pig irons are charged sequentially by the same way and continuously. The charged material is melted at high speed by reducing the time for charge and the loss of heat by one time charge.
