PURPOSE: A method for measuring a shrinking rate of a coke cake using a measuring plate with a specified size and a measuring rod is provided which measures a distance between a coke oven wall and a coke cake. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of calculating a horizontal cross sectional area containing the center of two or more cauliflowers; preparing a measuring plate (21) having the same cross sectional area as that of containing the center of two or more cauliflowers and a measuring rod (22) that has a scale (23) at its one side and fixed to a measuring plate at its another side and forming a plate receiving hole (211) at a position of a movable wall (1) corresponding to between the coke oven middle height and the coke oven bottom and a measuring rod through hole (221); allowing the measuring plate to be placed in the plate receiving hole by allowing the measuring rod to pass through the measuring rod through hole from the side of the movable wall to the out side, moving the movable wall to close up the open surface of the coke oven, charging coal in the coke oven (3), reading out scale formed in the measuring rod, moving the measuring plate into the coke oven until the measuring plate comes in contact with the coke cake after coal carbonization in a coke oven, reading out the scale, and calculating two values. |
