PURPOSE: A random interleaver of a coding apparatus is provided to have a perfect random characteristic storing an interleaving of an input symbol to an address allotted by a pseudo code. CONSTITUTION: A random interleaver of a coding apparatus comprises a 2M buffer(111), an interleaver data storing part(112), an address register(113), a pseudo noise(PN) generator(114), a PN initial data buffer(115), an interleaver controller(140), and a memory(150). The memory(150) stores PN initial data known only by a system and a terminal performing a random interleaving. The 2M buffer(111) stores frame 2M bits of input information. The PN initial data buffer(115) buffers the PN initial data stored in the memory(150) by the interleaver controller(140). The PN generator(114) receives the PN initial data from the PN initial data buffer(115), and randomly changes the order of the PN initial data in response to a reset signal from the interleaver controller(140) to generate an address. The address register(113) stores the address generated from the PN generator(114) to transfer the stored address to the interleaver controller(140). The interleaver data storing part(112) stores data from the 2M buffer(111) at the address from the address register(113) in response to a clock and a read/write bar signal from the interleaver controller(140).
