PINUSOLIDE DERIVATIVES

PURPOSE: Novel pinusolide derivatives and pharmaceutical compositions containing the derivatives are provided, which have the antagonistic effect against the PAF (platelet activating factor). CONSTITUTION: The pinusolide derivatives are represented by the formula 1, wherein R1 is =O, -OH or -OAc or forms compound 2 group together with X-Y; R2 represents -CH3, =CH2, -CH2OH, -CH2OAc, -OH, =O, compound 3, compound 4 or compound 5; R3 represents -COOCH3, -CH2OAc or -CH2OH; and X-Y represents CH-CH2 or C=CH-.
