PURPOSE: A refrigerating compartment structure for refrigerator is provided, in which a kimchi storage chamber is separately arranged and maintained at a constant temperature, to thereby allow kimchi to be stored with taste for a long time period. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerating compartment structure includes a kimchi container storage chamber(10) formed by installing a vertical diaphragm(11) between upper and lower shelves(3) of the lower portion of a refrigerating compartment(1) in such a manner that a cooling air enters the kimchi container storage chamber; and a front door(12) installed at a predetermined location of a door basket(4) and which opens/closes the front surface of the kimchi container storage chamber upon opening/closing of a refrigerator door(2). The front door has a packing(13) inserted along the inner periphery of the front door, such that the kimchi container storage chamber is sealed upon closure of the refrigerator door. The front door is hinge-coupled to the door basket, such that the upper portion of the front door rotates when articles are taken out from the door basket.
