PURPOSE: A method for erasing channel data in a television receiver is provided to erase channel data on an edition mode for showing all channel status. CONSTITUTION: A method for erasing channel data in a television receiver comprises the steps of: determining whether a current mode is an edition mode, or not; determining whether if the edition mode is an erasing mode, or not if the current mode is the edition mode; determining whether the number of erased program is a predetermined number, or not if the edition mode is the erasing mode; erasing requested channel data if the number of erased program is the predetermined number, or moving the channel data of the erased channel to a predetermined number if the number of erased program is not the predetermined number.
