PURPOSE: An apparatus for positioning TMA(Thin-film Micromirror Array-actuated) panel of projection type image display device is provided to separately control TMA panels and remove backlash generated after positioning the panels using an elastic unit. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for positioning TMA panel of projection type image display device comprises a base panel(300), a Y panel(400), a X panel(500), a Z panel(600), a tilt panel(700) and a shift lever(800). The Y panel(400) is connected to the base panel to be moved along only Y-axis. The X panel(500) is connected to the Y panel to be moved along only X-axis. The Z panel(600) is connected to the X panel to be rotated about Z-axis. The tilt panel(700) is connected to the Z panel to be rotated about the Y-axis. The shift lever(800) promotes the X-axis directional movement of the X, Z and tilt panels against the base and Y panels.
