PURPOSE: An image display device is provided to increase the light utilization efficiency and to improve the brightness of the screen as the light rays output from the lamp is inputted to the light pipe without any loss. CONSTITUTION: A device comprises a lamp(102), a light pip(103), a source lens(104), a source stop(106), a source mirror(108), a field lens(110), a TMA panel(112), a projection stop(114), a projection lens(116), an electrode(120), a first reflection mirror(122), a second reflection mirror(124), and a third reflection mirror(126). The lamp(102) outputs the light ray by the arc discharge using the electrode(120) adhered to an end of the first reflection mirror(122). The second reflection mirror(124) outputs the light ray from the lamp and the light pipe(103) evens the output light rays of the lamp. The third reflection mirror is installed at the entrance pupil of the light pipe and the source stop(106) focuses the flux of light rays which has passed through the light pipe.
