PURPOSE: A method for defining functions of a mobile communication terminal is provided to change the terminal functions by simple key operations, by setting up functions which a user frequently utilizes, to define the functions in a designate key designated by the user among the various terminal functions. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal has a key inputting circuit, a menu storage, and a displayer. The key inputting circuit is composed of a number key and a function-defining key. The menu storage stores various menu messages. The displayer displays the menu messages. A method for changing functions of the mobile communication terminal, comprises the steps of: if an input mode for defining the functions is inputted by a user, converting a mode status into the input mode; defining functions selected by the user in a predetermined designate key among the various functions in a state of the input mode; if the user inputs the designate key in a state of the terminal functions being defined, changing the corresponding terminal functions defined in the designate key.
