METHOD FOR TESTING DEFECT OF STEEL

PURPOSE: A testing method of defect of steel is provided to detect defect existed in a mold piece or steel by a non-destructive method promptly and to decide the sort of defect by using a supersonic sensor. CONSTITUTION: To sense defect of steel and a cast piece for continuous casting by using a supersonic sensor having vibration frequency less than 100MHz, supersonic wave is injected to the steel and cast piece by using a supersonic sensor and dividing the sort of defect to an interposed material and a hole according to the phase of the wave reflected from the steel and cast piece. The method of detection using a supersonic sensor shortens the time for detecting compared to a general microscope. The accuracy of detection is more excellent than a general method using supersonic waves.
