METHOD OF PREPARING 2,6-NAPHTHALENE DICARBOXYLIC ACID

PURPOSE: A method of preparing 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid is provided which is able to produce the 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid with high yield. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises steps of: (i) mixing 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene with acidic solvent; (ii) adding main catalyst containing 0.01-10 of cobalt as a weight ratio to 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene, 0.01-5 of manganese as a weight ratio to the cobalt and 0.05-10 of bromine as a weight ratio to the cobalt and auxiliary catalyst containing 0.01-1 of cerium as a weight ratio to the cobalt and 0.0001-0.05 of copper as a weight ratio to the cobalt to the mixed solution of step (1) and suppling oxygen-containing gas thereto to perform a liquid exothermic oxidation.
