PURPOSE: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to simplify the steps of manufacturing. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display includes following steps. At the first step, a gate wiring is formed. At the second step, a gate insulation layer(30), a semiconductor layer(42,44), and a data conductive layer is formed sequentially. At the third step, a data wiring(62,64,66) including a source electrode extended to the gate electrode and confining a pixel by crossing the gate wiring is formed. At the forth step, a doped amorphous silicon is etched. At the fifth step, a protection layer(70), and a photosensitive layer(1000) is according to the accumulated sequentially on the data wiring and the semiconductor layer. At the sixth step, a photosensitive layer pattern is formed by using a photo operation using a mask. At the seventh step, a gate insulation layer pattern covering the protection layer pattern, a semiconductor pattern and the gate wiring. At the eighth step, a pixel electrode(82) connecting to the drain electrode is formed.
