PURPOSE: A refrigerator for kimchi is provided to properly utilize a pair of chambers as a maturation chamber or a preservation chamber of kimchi. CONSTITUTION: Cold air is supplied to a first and a second chamber(10,30) to use the first and second chambers for the storage of kimchi. A baffle(16a) of a damper(16) keeps 45 C. degrees in a state of stopping the light emitting of each heater(19,39). Then some of the cold air generated in an evaporator(12) is supplied to the first chamber, and some to the second chamber by a ventilation fan(13). Accordingly, the first and second chambers keep a proper low temperature for the storage of kimchi. When using the first and second chambers for the maturation of kimchi at the same time, the generation of cold air is stopped, and each heater is radiated. Since the cold air is not generated in the evaporator, each chamber keeps a proper temperature of the maturation of kimchi by the heaters installed in each chamber.
