PURPOSE: A high bit rate digital subscriber line(HDSL) interfacing unit is provided to interface an exchange with a remote subscriber concentrator, by using a HDSL interfacing card. CONSTITUTION: A high bit rate digital subscriber line(HDSL) interfacing unit has a first HDSL interfacing card(20) and a second HDSL interfacing card(30). The HDSL interfacing unit comprises a power supplier(25), an HDSL interface(21), a bus interface(22), a controller(23), and a transformer/overvoltage protector(24). The HDSL interface receives pulse code modulation(PCM) data from a device controller, and converts the PCM data into HDSL frame data. The bus interface receives subscriber interfacing card control data from the device controller. The controller controls the HDSL interface and the bus interface, and reads the subscriber interfacing card control data. The controller inserts the control data into the HDSL interface, and controls the HDSL interface and the bus interface to transmit the PCM data and the control data. The transformer/overvoltage protector transmits the PCM data and the control data to the second HDSL interfacing card through a HDSL.
