METHOD FOR PROVIDING MULTIMEDIA IN DIGITAL TELEVISION

PURPOSE: A method for providing multimedia in a digital television is provided to supply multimedia information about a program corresponding to EPG(Electronic Program Guide) to a user of a digital television. CONSTITUTION: A method for providing multimedia in a digital television comprises the steps of: checking whether a request for a multimedia data display of a predetermined program is input into a display of an EPG menu, or not; receiving multimedia data corresponding to the program by transmitting point information of the program if the request for the multimedia data display of the predetermined program is input into the display of the EPG menu; and demodulating, encoding, and decoding the received multimedia data and displaying the decoded multimedia data.
