PURPOSE: A method for automatically locking a keypad in a cellular phone, is provided to automatically lock a keypad without compressing a keypad lock key, and automatically lock a keypad again after a lease of a keypad lock function or after a speech completion. CONSTITUTION: A method for automatically locking a keypad in a cellular phone, comprises the steps of: setting an automatic lock time for performing an automatic lock function; deciding a passage of time as much as the set automatic lock time after the speech, when a predetermined speech is ended; and performing a function automatically locking a keypad, in a decision that time passed as much as the set automatic lock time after the ending of the speech.
