PURPOSE: A method for holding a conference by a Voice Mail System(VMS) is provided to supply various added services, such as record for conference calling contents, and an output of various call waiting tones, by using the VAM, which decreases time for holding a conference in using a multi-party conference function among subscribers of Public Switched Telephone Network(PSTN). CONSTITUTION: A method for holding a conference by a Voice Mail System(VMS) comprises the steps of: being inputted in advance and registering terminal telephone numbers of conference attendants at least over two persons and conference date and time from a conference supervisor; notifying conference opening in voice by calling to the terminal telephone numbers of the attendants on the registered conference opening day; executing a conference service, if the attendants are over a predetermined number, in case that the holder attends at the conference; and ending the conference service by confirming that the supervisor attends away while holding the conference.
