PURPOSE: A method for measuring the number of NO.7 messages by originating stations and destination stations in a switching system, is provided to recognize data for NO.7 signals traffics by measuring messages using a NO.7 signal system after discriminating the messages by originating stations and destination stations. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring the number of NO.7 messaged by originating stations and destination stations in a switching system, having an operation and maintenance processor(OMP) and an interconnection network processor(INP), comprises the steps as follows. Instruction to measure the number of NO.7 messages, inputted by an operator through an operator interface device, is transmitted to a NO.7 processing device. NO.7 messages being processed presently are discriminated by originating stations and destination stations according as instruction to measure the number of NO.7 messages is inputted from the operator interface device, and the corresponding number of NO.7 messages is checked. A demand time and a periodical set-up time of the switching system are counted after checking the number of NO.7 messages. The checking of the NO.7 messages processed until present is repeatedly performed when the set-up time passes, after counting the demand time. The NO.7 messages processed until present is checked and transmitted when the demand time passes, after checking the number of the NO.7 messages. The checked number of the NO.7 messages are compared after being inputted the number of NO.7 messages instruction, and the difference is transmitted to the operator interface device, after transmitting the NO.7 messages.
