PURPOSE: A method for establishing a cooking period for a microwave oven is provided to improve the completion of cook by establishing an added cooking period according to the weight of food while establishing the cooking period by the time detected by a humidity sensor and by the added cooking period per menu. CONSTITUTION: A fixed period that is established according to the menu or the weight of food, and a variable period established according to the menu are established. Herein, the variable ratio is established according to the change of weight in the same menu. Then, the fixed period is established according to the kinds of food or the weight of food. Moreover, the variable ratio is established for each kind of food or each weight of food. Therefore, the completion of cook is improved by minimizing cooking deviation caused by the weight of food.
