PURPOSE: A rotary compressor is provided to reduce its volume by making a cylinder rotated by extending the lower part of the cylinder toward a stator. CONSTITUTION: By turning a cylinder(130) 90 angular degrees counterclockwise, a compressing chamber(131) is divided into a first chamber(131a) and a second chamber(131b) by a vane(135) and a roller(150). Coolant gas is sucked into the first chamber via a suction hole(151) of the roller and then compressed in the second chamber. If the cylinder rotates counterclockwise continuously, the coolant gas is sucked continuously to the first chamber ad the coolant gas in the second chamber is compressed more. When the pressure of the second chamber overcomes the force of a valve installed in an outlet port(137), the coolant gas is discharged via the outlet port and returned by the rotation of the cylinder. The suction and discharge of the coolant gas is repeated continuously by the divided compressing chamber.
