PURPOSE: A method for controlling transmission to save a telephone charge is provided to prevent laying charge, by unlocking a call, if another side is not answered for a fixed time after calling, and then being automatically converted into a voice recording mode through a base station as well as dialing again as many as number an user requests after unlocking the call. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling transmission to save a telephone charge in calling a cellular phone, comprises the steps of: storing a telephone number in a redial buffer, after dialing a fixed telephone number inputted from an user; checking whether a ring back tone receiving number reaches up to a limited number, if a signal notifying a response of an incoming side from a base station is not received, by checking whether the signal is received, when the receiving is detected, by checking whether a ring back tone is received from the base station; unlocking the call compulsorily, if the signal is not received up to receiving of the limited number of ring back tone; and returning to the second step, after reading to redial the stored telephone number, if an automatic redial number is not reached up to the limited number.
