PRODUCTION PROCESS OF ULTRAFINE SIALON-SILICONE CARBIDE COMPLEX POWDER

PURPOSE: A production process of ultrafine Sialon-SiC complex powder is provided which is used as a fine starting powder so that the excessive growth of Sialon particles inside the final Sialon-SiC is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A production process of the Sialon-SiC complex powder follows carbon heat reduction nitrification method wherein reaction temperature is 1350-1400°C, reaction time is 5-10hours, reaction condition is under nitrogen/hydrogen complex condition whose ratio is nitrogen : hydrogen = 70/30-30/70 in volume and the line flow speed of the complex gases is 0.2-1.0cm/min. To obtain Si-Al-O-C-based compounds that is employed in the carbon heat reduction nitrification method, Si-alkoxide and Al-alkoxide are respectively used as a Si source and an Al source and a carbon black and a graphite powder are used as a carbon source.
