PURPOSE: A carbonaceous amorphous refractory for a steel-making container is provided to give various excellent effects for storage, filling, and intrusion of an ingot steel and slag, and resistance to corrosion and the like. CONSTITUTION: A carbonaceous amorphous refractory for steel-making container is characterized by comprising magnesia particles, alumina particles, black lead particles, carbon type particles and their metal powder. The diameter of the magnesia particles and the alumina particles are 5mm or less and 0.075mm or less, respectively. The refractory aggregates are comprised of 70 to 74 wt% of magnesia particles and 5 to 10 wt% of alumina particles. The mixture of black lead particles and carbon type particles, and their metal powder in a ratio of 11 to 13 wt% are mixed with 7 to 9 wt% of liquid phenol resin in the aggregates to be 100 wt% as a total weight.
