PURPOSE: A method for recording/reproducing a magnetic recording media for a long time is provided to prevent the omission of image signals when replacing the video tapes in a CCTV system, and to improve the image quality in a reproducing mode. CONSTITUTION: In a method for recording/reproducing a magnetic recording media for a long time, the media records an image signal rotating a head drum on which a pair of head is attached, and the method includes three steps. The first step is to slowly run the magnetic recording media with a constant speed less than speed corresponding to three times mode. The second step is to process an inputted image signal by a field unit. The third step is to divide the processed one image signal field and record on the magnetic recording media using the head.
