PURPOSE: A method for managing a network through an event database, is provided to store causes of an event and a proper alternative thereof in the event database, while reading the causes and alternative, and to supply an operator with the causes and alternative. CONSTITUTION: A method for managing a network through an event database, managing alternatives and causes responded to an event, comprises the steps of: when an event created from an exterior, informing an operator of the event by use of a trap message; auditing receiving of a message requesting for an information on a particular trap from the operator, by responding the trap message; analysing a number of the particular trap from the request message, if receiving the request message; searching a database of the event by use of the analysed trap number, for searching information on the causes and alternatives of the event; creating a response message including the information; and supplying the operator with the response message.
