RETRACTABLE/EXTENSIBLE ANTENNA APPARATUS OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A retractable/extensible antenna apparatus of a mobile communication terminal is provided to receive two or more frequency bands by retracting and extending the antenna in accordance with frequency bands. CONSTITUTION: An antenna(12) receives a rod antenna(40) and has feed areas(16, 18) formed at positions for the rod antenna(40) to have lengths corresponding to frequency bands. A feeding connector(36) is electrically connected to an RF unit of a mobile communication terminal in a contact with one of the feeding areas(16, 18). A rack(14) is connected to a lower portion of the antenna(12). A stepping motor(30) has a shaft with a pinion gear meshed with the rack(14) and is driven for the feeding area(16, 18) corresponding to the present frequency band to be contacted with the feeding connector(36).
