PURPOSE: A duplex controller of a district center in a multi-media satellite communication system is provided to prevent from a down of the data transmission due to a malfunction of the device by duplexing the data transmission devices in the district center which transmits multimedia data to a number of stations. CONSTITUTION: In a multimedia satellite communication system physically combined with an Internet for generating a certain packet data out of the data input from the Internet and transmitting them to stations, the duplex controller of a district center includes an IP switch for switching the IP packet input from the Internet, a first transmission data processor for generating TS packet on the basis of the data transmitted from the IP switch, a second transmission data processor for generating TS packet on the basis of the data transmitted from the IP switch, a first modulator for modulating the TS packet data input and outputting to a medium frequency signal, a second modulator for modulating the TS packet data input and outputting to a medium frequency signal, a duplex control switching means for switch-controlling to selectively transmit the data transmitted from the first and second transmission data processors to the first and second modulators according to a control signal, a network management means for sending the switching control signal to the duplex control switching means, and an RF means for frequency up-converting and high power amplifying the medium frequency signal output from the first and second modulators and outputting them.
