MULTIMEDIA SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE: A multimedia satellite communication system is provided to transmit multimedia data such as visual data for subscribers of satellite communication using a fixed private IP(Internet Protocol) address or an assigned commonly used IP address with high speed. CONSTITUTION: A district center connects with Internet. A set top box connects with communication terminal. A forward link from the district center to the communication terminal is done with TDM(Time Division Multiplex) mode. A return link from set top box to district center is composed of CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) mode. The district center is composed of following units. A router connects with Internet. An IP switch switches router or multiple multimedia servers. An NAT(Network Address Translation) processes mapping and manages public and private IP address. A DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server assigns available public IP address when subscriber requests Internet connection. A transmission processor transmits data to a set top box. A processor controls calls between a set top box and Internet.
