PURPOSE: A method for requesting for number translation in a satellite communication system, is provided to request for the number translation with a transmission at one time, by receiving as long as a corresponded number length, if a number to call request inputted from a subscriber refers to a number as long as a setup length. CONSTITUTION: In a method for requesting for number translation in a satellite communication system, the satellite communication system has a number storage stored number data, and compares an inputted number with the stored number, based thereon, to request for number translation. The method comprises the steps of: deciding whether a subscriber terminal inputs number data; comparing the inputted data with the stored data at a regular unit; inputting data until data of same length is inputted, if a same data as the inputted number is existed; generating transmission data to number translation request, based on the inputted number data; and transmitting transmission data to the generated request.
