APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SENSING PLACEMENT OF VCR TAPE

PURPOSE: A method for sensing the placement of a VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) tape is provided to inform a user of the placement of the VCR tape by installing optical sensors on a slant pole in a tape traveling system. CONSTITUTION: A video tape is inserted to a VCR deck(S101). Optical sensors installed on a slant pole detect the location of the tape(S102). The precision of the placement is decided(S103). If the tape is located in a precise location, a message indicative of the precise placement is displayed on a displayer(S104). If the tape is located in a wrong location, a message commanding replacement of the tape is displayed(S105).
