摘要 |
PURPOSE: A method for monitoring cast in a continuous casting device of billet is provided to presume the shape of shell in a mold outlet by using the difference of temperatures at the inlet and the outlet of cooling water and an equation of energy balance. CONSTITUTION: A shape of a shell is presumed by using a simple equation of heat transmission toward the thickness of shell and an equation of energy balance in a liquid metal in the base of data measured through a temperature sensor(3). When the heat capacity emitted to each cooling channel(2) is calculated by using the data for the temperatures at the inlet and the outlet of cooling water, the thickness of shell at the lower end of the mold is presumed by using a simple equation. Then, the shape of the shell is presumed by obtaining the thickness of shell and by using the change in the temperature of cooling water at four corners. Herein, if the shape of the shell represents an uneven growth, the mold alignment is improved for obtaining a proper shaped shell.
