PURPOSE: An electrode roll of a secondary cell is provided to prevent the deterioration of the cell performance by preventing the sludge of lithium metal through the prevention of concentrating the stress on a portion of an electrode roll. CONSTITUTION: Either of both ends of an electrode roll(22) is coated and protection tape(32) is attached to coat the entire width of one direction of a finish tape(34). The thickness of the protection tape(32) is between 0.05 to 0.1 mm. An electrode roll(22) is received in a can(20). The can is sealed with a cap assembly(24). The electrode roll(22) is compressed to be formed in an elliptical shape. A positive electrode tab(26) is connected to a positive electrode positioned at the upper center of the electrode roll(22) and the positive electrode tab(26) is welded to the lower portion of the cap assembly(24).
