METHODS OF EXTRACTION AND PURIFICATION FROM POLYGALAE RADIX AND NATURAL COMPOUNDS INCLUDING ITS EXTRACTS

PURPOSE: A herb medicinal composition containing Polygalae Radix extract is provided, which has active ingredient having affinity to Dopamine-2 receptor and serotonin-2 receptor, thereby shows anti-psychosis effect by controlling neurotransmitter, the Dopamine-2 or serotonin-2. CONSTITUTION: A process for the separation of primary extract from Polygalae Radix comprises the steps of: pulverizing the Polygalae Radix into 70-230mesh size, adding methanol to extract for 3times, and evaporation-concentrating under decompression to get methanol extract; concentrating the methanol fraction in an evaporation-concentrator, suspending in 10times of distilled water, shaking after adding the same volume of butanol, and extracting for 3times and gathering butanol layer; concentrating under decompression the butanol fraction to get the extract, suspending in 100times of distilled water, adsorbing by passing through dion HP020 resin, and eliminating inactive part using 70% methanol; concentrating the active material using 50-100 times of methanol; and concentrating and suspending the extract, and freeze-drying to get powdered extract.
