PURPOSE: An antifouling paint composition containing, as a vehicle, a hydrolyzing binder is provided which prevents the growth and adhesion of marine microorganisms and has uniform abrasive and storage stability. CONSTITUTION: A composition comprises as a vehicle, a mixture of X-M-(R1)n, X-M-(R2)n and M-(R3)n in a specified ratio, an organic and inorganic antifouling agent, a thickener, a pigment, and a filler. In formula, X is A-CO-, A-SO2-, A-POOH, or A-PO, A is H or a hydrogen substituted carbon group, M is a group 8A, 1B, 2B, 3B or 4B metal element as positioned in the periodic table of elements, R1 is C1-7 alkyl, alkylene or cycloalkyl, n is an integer from 1 to 4, R2 is HOOC-R4-CO-Z-R'-(OY)m in which R' is C2-8 alkylene, Y is C2-12 alkyl, Z is O or NH, m is an integer, R4 is C2-15 cycloalkyl. The composition has excellent adhesiveness to tin-containing antifouling paint as well as having higher smoothness compared to initial surface roughness. |
