PURPOSE: A preparation method of flame retardant polyester resin is provided, characterized in that the polyester resin prepared from the method has excellent alkali resistance without deterioration of degree of polymerization. CONSTITUTION: A preparation method of flame retardant polyester resin comprises reacting an aromatic diacid or its ester compound with an aliphatic diol, characterized by adding 0.1 - 5 % by weight of an aromatic multi-functional carboxylic acid having meta or ortho orientation of carboxylic group such as 1,2,4-benzene tricarboxylic acid, 1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic acid and isophthalic acid on the basis of the aromatic diacid or its ester compound to induce steric hindrance structurally, resulting in the polyester resin less attacked by an alkali compound. |
