PURPOSE: A method and a device are provided to measure the amount of accumulated dust inside a dust collector by using plural thermocouples. CONSTITUTION: A periodic temperature average of each thermocouple is calculated according to a temperature signal of a dust collector. The calculated temperature average is stored for one period, and a temperature change range is calculated from the stored data. The temperature incline of one period is calculated, and an approximate level is calculated from the temperature change range and periodic average. A precise and continuous dust level is obtained from the level, and the level is compared with the maximum temperature output from a level measurer. When the level is less than the maximum temperature value, a discharge start signal is output. When the level is more than the minimum temperature, the level state is output while when the level is less than the minimum, a discharge finish signal is output.
