PURPOSE: A back light driving apparatus is provided to drive a back light of a liquid crystal display device by a desired time without opening a flip. CONSTITUTION: A back light driving apparatus comprises a light emitting diode array and a switch circuit. The light emitting diode array consists of a plurality of light emitting diodes(D1,D2-D3) and a plurality of resistors(R1,R2-R10) each corresponding to the light emitting diodes(D1,D2-D3). The resistors(R1,R2-R10) limit current flowing from a power terminal(A) to corresponding light emitting diodes. The switch circuit consists of two resistors(R21,R22) and a transistor(Q). The transistor(Q) is switched on and off according to a control signal(B) through the resistor(R21) from a control part. The cathodes of the diodes(D1,D2-D3) are connected in common to the collector of the transistor(Q), and the anodes thereof are connected in common to the power terminal(A) through corresponding resistors(R1,R2-R10).
