PURPOSE: A magnet assembly for a cathode ray tube is provided which contributes to improve the image quality of a cathode ray tube by enabling the fine controlling of convergence of red and blue colors. CONSTITUTION: A magnet assembly(28) is made by assembling a dipole(30), four poles part(32,34) and a six pole(36), which is composed of a pair of ring magnets(30a,32a,34a,36a) having a dipole, a four pole and a six pole. At least more than two four poles are arranged, which has a magnetic flux of 80 Gauss and another has a magnetic flux below 80 Gauss. The magnet assembly can improve the productivity by reducing the time required to control the convergence minutely.
